This position is responsible for directing the activities of Hard Count and Soft Count Departments. Ensures accurate recording of gaming revenues and regulatory compliance to ensure guests receive extraordinary guest service and operations run smoothly.• Hires, trains, motivates, evaluates, and supervises staff in order to ensure that team members receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives: prepares schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels for hard count and soft count departments.• Understands department objectives, standards, guidelines, and budget to achieve effective management of department.• Establishes and maintains training and development procedures to ensure extraordinary guest service standards are achieved.• Ensure compliance with internal control system and Nevada State Regulations.• Observe month-end high denomination count and drop and count procedures.• Manages two subordinate team leaders who supervise as needed, scheduled team members in the Hard Count and Soft Count Departments also keep attendance and discipline records.• Coordinate and maintain communication between departments.
- Responsible for the collection, counting, sorting, and wrapping of currency. - Participates in the transfer of currency off the floor. - Transports the currency to the restricted area for counting. - Ensures key control procedures are followed. - Responsible for operating currency counters, adding machines and other Auditing functions. - Completes daily maintenance of all count room equipment as well as cleaning of count room. - Works professionally with other departments as needed to complete tasks. - Ensures company assets are properly accounted for and secured. - Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned. - Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.
Each shift begins at 2:30 AM and each shift is guaranteed to be paid for all scheduled hours (Guaranteed pay for a minimum of 40 hours per week). - Assure an accurate soft count by counting and recording information in accordance with gaming regulations and/or casino policies. - Assure accurate report of slot drop by keying information into the computer, balancing, and reporting information by computer entries to Finance Department. - Maintain and assure the proper routing of the department’s paperwork. - Maintain the safekeeping of the carts and the contents of the pit drop boxes. - Adhere to established department and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.- Must maintain the strictest confidence of any and all confidential information disclosed by an Ameristar entity. - This is a uniformed position, which requires that team member’s are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty. - Heavy, repetitive lifting (up to 50lbs)

- Complies with company policies, all state and federal regulations, and internal controls as relates to this position. - Conducts the drop on all EGDs. Sorts and counts coin and vouchers using counting machines and scanners. Completes cash count to vault sheet. - Prepares money and tickets to be put into counting machine; opens drop boxes, empties money and tickets, clears and resets box. - Operates counting machines, straps cash, and bags coin. - Verifies grand total with Casino Accounting. - Maintains Count Room machines, supplies, and general area. Cleans machines, performs preventive maintenance, and cleans Count Room area. - Employees may be required to perform duties outside of their normal job description where, in the Company’s judgment, it is necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or improved guest service.
- Responsible for the collection and count of slot cash boxes from the gaming floor and the subsequent cash and ticket count conducted in the Count Room. - Responsible for the count of Poker and Table Game drop boxes and any other drops or counts for associated gaming revenues in order to assist in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, workforce strength, and compliance goals. - Comprehensive understanding of regulations pertaining to the work process. - Accurately report count results. - Complete daily maintenance of all Count Room equipment.
- Maintains a thorough working knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations of the Gaming Commission, as well as company policies, procedures, and controls. - Responsible for casino drop/count. - Other duties as assigned.

- Cleans slot machines, in between machines, ash trays, slot bases, trash cans, restrooms, offices, public areas, windows and ledges, restaurants, lighting, walls, counter tops, furniture, and any other decorative objects in the casino or common areas.- Vacuums carpet, sweeps and mops tile floors, and cleans any spills that occur.- Cleans up any biohazardous materials according to established guidelines.- Removes trash from trash containers and places into the dumpsters.- Familiar with the proper use of cleaning solutions and equipment.- Replaces toilet tissue and refills paper towel dispensers.- Cleans and polishes all furniture, marble, brass fixtures, brass floor plates, entrance door brass, and kick door brass plates.- Cleans all escalators and elevators.- Knows where all facilities in the casino are located.- Straightens chairs as needed.- Removes glasses, cups, paper, and debris from all assigned areas, per procedure.- Adheres to all regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures.- Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.
