An individual could be successful if they possess the following.
- Supervises, assigns work tasks, and coordinates activities of Dining Room personnel to provide fast and courteous service to guests. - Greets guests with a sincere and friendly welcome, escorts them to tables, introduces server, and provides menus. - Adheres to concessions and beverage policies. - Schedules dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for diners. - Communicates guests’ comments and concerns to management. - inspects Dining Room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness, and requisitions table linens and other Dining Room supplies for tables and serving stations. - Assists in table clears and resets. - Collects payment from customers, when necessary or directed by Room Manager. - Totals receipts at end of shift to verify sales and clears cash register. - Completes any task assigned by Dining Room Manager, supervisor, Chef, or Maitre D’.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. - Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. - Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission. Must be able to obtain proper Food Handler Certification. Must be certified in TiPS training upon hiring.
