Your daily responsibilities include


The Cloud Platform Architect is responsible for supporting the existing cloud infrastructure, while also building out the next generation of cloud-based solutions. This includes, but is not limited to, infrastructure design, planning, management, maintenance and support.



The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Leverages solutions and best practices in AWS to support ongoing application development efforts.
  • Partners with the business and internal technology teams to collect and document solution requirements, performance objectives, detailing metrics and benchmarking measurements for evaluation in an independent fashion. Makes recommendations based upon data collection.
  • Translates requirements into a prioritized list of user stories and deliver per timelines.
  • Designs, develops, tests, operates, and sustains secure computing architectures to include cloud, data centers, and overall infrastructure optimization activities.
  • Establishes a foundation for future implementations and automation requirements for cloud environments.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to Executive Management.

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from a four-year college or university; or at least seven years’ experience in IT field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have at least three years of hands-on experience with Cloud Services Providers technology and services using AWS.
  • Certification as an AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect, OpenStack Administrator Certification, and/or other cloud-related certifications highly preferred.  
  • Must have solid knowledge of cloud design in the areas of virtualization and global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing, scalability, and security.
  • Must have solid understanding of Amazon Control Tower, S3, EC2, Kafka, Kinesis, ElasticCache, and/or Elastic Load Balancing. 
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of monitoring with AWS services.
  • Must have knowledge with CI/CD configuration pipelines into the cloud using Jenkins
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point). Must have solid understanding of Windows Powershell and Linux/Unix Bash Scripting. 
  • Must have strong critical thinking skills and technical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in prioritization or schedules of items in the work queue as necessary.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines and being proactive when working on tasks.
  • Must have strong problem solving, organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must have excellent project and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Strong client interface and presentation skills highly preferred.
