An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

Your daily responsibilities include

  • Assists the (Regional) Purchasing Manager and Buyers with purchasing requests. Researches products, contacts vendors, solicits bids and presents information in an organized manner to ensure cost effective decisions on purchases. Works closely with departments to ensure purchasing needs are met while maintaining costs.  
  • Assists with entry of Purchase orders as needed.
  • Reviews requisitions for correctness and completeness of information; ensure required signature authority levels are documented on all “paperwork” related to procurement.
  • Efficiently administers a consistent flow and supply of office materials including tracking inventory and re-ordering supplies as needed.
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

  • High School Diploma/ GED.
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
