    Your daily responsibilities include

    SUMMARY

    Responsible for managing the 24-hour casino information systems, local area network, and voice and data communications. This individual will direct and lead the day-to-day activities of the IS staff.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • This position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and promoting a positive attitude to create a fun and entertaining experience for our guests and Team Members.
    • Responsible for managing the 24-hour casino information systems, local area network, and voice and data communications. Responsible for installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting of servers, and desktop hardware, software and interfaces.
    • Personnel management responsibilities include recruiting, coaching, performance management, career development, and allocation and prioritization of work of the IT staff. Participate in the development of policies and procedures, manage compliance and ensure cross training of responsibilities. This position is also responsible for the selection and management of consultants.
    • Responsible for budgeting, evaluation, procurement, installation, configuration, upgrades, trouble-shooting, and support of computer and communications hardware, operation systems and application software.
    • Responsible for providing service to users, resolving user problems and providing instruction and training to users to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
    • Responsible for disaster recovery planning and testing, capacity planning, security administration, software licensing, monitoring and tuning performance, ensuring integrity of backups, preventative maintenance and maximizing system availability.
    • Responsible for staying informed on new technologies with a view towards integrating them into the company’s architecture. Recommend and implement process improvements and purchases that will improve system performance, user productivity customer satisfaction and/or reduce costs.
    • Interact with compliance auditors ensuring that audit findings are resolved in a timely basis. Interact with corporate requirements to ensure best practices and compliance.
    • With guidance from the Director of IT, participate in planning and formulating the departmental budget. Review departmental expenses and ensure compliance with the budget.

     

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES/JOB DIMENSIONS

    Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hollywood Casino from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Team Members with irregular attendance will be subject to Hollywood Casino disciplinary action procedures up to and including termination of employment.

     

    Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Team Members may be required to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.

     

    Upon employment, all Team Members are required to fully comply with Hollywood Casino policies and procedures for the safe and efficient operation of Company facilities.  Team Members who violate Company policies and procedures are subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Equivalent to a complete college or university education with over 8 years of experience.  A successful candidate in this position must have a broad technical background in all aspects of network and desktop computing with over 8 years of IT experience and a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.  Strong technical and problem resolution skills with experience in managing a multi-platform environment including Windows, and AS/400 iSeries is required.  Cisco VOIP, Cisco UCS, VMWare and NetAppMCSE certification is preferred.  Documented vendor training is a plus.  POS experience is a plus.  Experience with Cisco VOIP, Cisco UCS, VMWare is required. Previous casino experience is required. A successful candidate must have a proven track record of leading numerous projects simultaneously, establishing effective priorities among competing requirements and meeting deadlines while demonstrating a successful hands-on approach to overseeing all assigned projects. Must possess strong administrative, analytical, time management and decision-making skills.  A successful candidate must have a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required. This position interfaces with all department, other IT staff and outside vendors. Must have experience working directly with customers in understanding business needs. Demonstrated ability to attract, retain, motivate and lead a team of skilled IT professionals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.  This position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and promoting a positive attitude to create a fun and entertaining experience for our guests and Team Members. Must understand and speak the English language.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS 

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Team Members of the organization.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and complex written and oral instructions.  Ability to solve difficult problems.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. The Team Member frequently is required to stand and walk.  The Team Member is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch.  The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  The Team Member requires manual dexterity to operate all necessary equipment.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance.
