The business analyst acts as an intermediary between the business community and the technical community working with IT project teams and business clients to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which applications and solutions are developed. The business analyst is an active thought partner and application visionary who shapes the technology demand among the business community.
This role works collaboratively within a project team environment to identify issues/risks, propose solutions, and adjust to shifting priorities while maintaining project pace/schedule.

A successful candidate in this position must have experience engaging business partners to align IT roadmaps with business strategies. Strong technical, analytical and problem resolution skills are required. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required. This position interfaces with all departments, other IT staff and outside vendors. Must have experience working directly with customers in understanding business needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Successful candidates must be logical thinkers, effective at multitasking, detail-oriented, good leaders and effective communicators. This position involves working in individual as well as team settings.
Education and/or Experience:
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to senior management.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Strong understanding of the software development life cycle; Experience in systems design and implementation preferred
Other Skills and Abilities:
A successful candidate must have a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong customer service, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required. Must have a proven track record of leading numerous projects simultaneously, establishing effective priorities among competing requirements and meeting deadlines while demonstrating a successful hands-on approach to overseeing all assigned projects. Must possess strong administrative, analytical, time and project management and decision making skills. Experience working directly with customers in understanding business needs required.
