    Your daily responsibilities include

    The Senior Financial Systems Analyst role is responsible for the administration of the Company’s financial systems including Cognos, Timeline, Infinium, Great Plains, Blackline applications and other financial systems. This position will collaborate and interact within the finance, business and IT communities. The Senior Financial Systems Analyst must exhibit strong leadership, collaboration, accounting/financial acumen and communication skills, and effectively engage peers. This position reports to the Director of Financial Systems within the Accounting Organization.

     

    Financial system management includes database validation and ensures data integrity and consistency between all financial systems for accuracy and completeness. Administers the financial reporting tools utilized by the company, which include Cognos and Timeline. Manages the general ledger chart of accounts, entity structure and period controls, and ensures all subsidiary systems are in agreement and properly maintained. Administers Blackline month end close Task, Journal Entry and Account Reconciliation modules. Administers the lease accounting software selected to comply with the FASB ASC 842 lease accounting standard.

     

    The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

     

    • Responsible for managing all functional components of assigned financial systems.
    • Liaise with Internal Audit and the IT Departments to ensure compliance with user provisioning internal controls for the financial systems.
    • Work collaboratively with internal and external resources to support and enhance the existing BI architecture.
    • Develop and update security groups and roles as required to meet business objectives.
    • Work with users to resolve a variety of customer issues for financial reporting and the general ledger.
    • Develop and maintain documentation such as design documents, admin guides, etc.
    • Application administration includes research and resolve issues with metadata, create and maintain hierarchies, write or modify basic calculation scripts or business rules, execute processes such as deploying data and updating variables, and maintain mapping of source data from local source systems to the financial reporting systems.
    • Maintain the general ledger chart of accounts, time period controls and entity structure and ensure all subsidiary systems are kept in sync with one another.
    • Provide support on all accounting and financial related systems, including collaborating with consultants and software vendors on projects.
    • Assist with design, planning and testing of system upgrades and enhancements to accounting and financial related systems.
    • Involvement in the implementation of new financial systems and upgrades/modifications to existing systems. This includes capturing business requirements, input data requirements, output requirements, input data acquisition, data governance, system controls, data validation and testing of the applications.

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent.
    • Accounting or Finance background and experience preferred.
    • Strong understanding of OLAP concepts and financial business acumen.
    • Working knowledge and experience with financial systems and operating systems is preferred (Cognos, Timeline, Great Plains, Infinium, AS400, Showcase).
    • Experience with Blackline’s Account Reconciliation, Journal Entry, and Task modules preferred.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced environment managing multiple tasks, projects and personnel simultaneously. Must possess ability to prioritize conflicting duties for self and accounting department while maintaining timeline integrity for projects and tasks.
    • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure.
    • Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision/oversight by anticipating next steps.
    • Able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats and present information appropriately based on the target audience; can take large volumes of complex information and present it in a meaningful and concise manner.
    • Collaborates with colleagues across multiple disciplines and builds relationships to leverage information and insights.
    • Ability to build trusting relationships and partner with end-users throughout the organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams as well as in an independent setting.
    • Attentive to details with ability to translate into the “big” picture.
    • Regularly and proactively communicates work progress, concerns, and questions.
    • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting concepts and experience supporting financial month end close.
    • Creative problem solver who can provide both “tried-and-true” and “out-of-the-box” solutions.
