    Your daily responsibilities include

    SUMMARY:

    The Slot Tech Lead is responsible for the successful operation and performance of all EGM’s on the gaming floor through the effective leadership of Slot Technician staff. Responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of all slot machines and gaming devices shift in accordance with property policies and procedures.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Promote and maintain all steps in the customer service program with each patron and employee you may come in contact with
    • Repairs, overhauls, and maintains proper preventative maintenance of all slot machines to ensure optimal operation.
    • Coordinates floor maintenance and repair.
    • Processes the necessary paperwork for auditing and data processing purposes for the initial set-up and checkout of new slot machines.
    • Keeps an accurate count of machines on the floor, matching the units licensed, maintains records of all percentage sheets as required by the Gaming Commission.
    • Supervises the breakdown, relocation, and setup of machines and stands to be relocated.
    • Delegates authority and assigns responsibilities to individual employees.
    • Responsible for reviewing reports and statistical data for malfunctions or other problems and implementing appropriate maintenance and repair lists.
    • Maintains knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.) and attendant regulations, as well as property internal controls, policies and procedures.
    • Brings disputes and unusual guest activities to the attention of the shift manager.
    • Must be knowledgeable of all special events and promotional activities available to guests.
    • Presents oneself as a credit to the Company and encourages others to do the same.
    • Must work well under pressure, and meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
    • Must at all times demonstrate ethical and cooperative behavior with guests, co-workers and supervisors.
    • Adhere to all departments/company policies and procedures. 
    • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

     

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Qualifications

    • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
    • Must qualify for licensing with the New Mexico Racing & Gaming Commissions.
    • Must possess NM Alcohol Servers Permit. 
    • Ability to work varying schedule to include: all shifts, days and holidays
    • Must have a good working knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Knowledge of New Mexico gaming laws and regulations as well as the Penn National Gaming’s internal controls, policies and procedures.
    • Work in a fast paced environment.
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal and employee relations skills.
    • Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guests and vendors.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, customers, and the general public.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to work as part of a team and to promote cooperative approach between departments.
    • Ability to work unsupervised.
    • High School diploma or G.E.D required.  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year university or college is preferred.
    • Two to five years experience in electronics and maintenance of technical equipment, game machines, or slot machines preferred.
    • Minimum one year experience in a supervisory role is required.
    • Good oral and written communication skills, must be fluent and literate in English.  Bilingual in Spanish preferred. 
    • Knowledge of finance and human resources applications within the Slot Department.

    • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
    • Exposure to unrestricted second-hand smoke in guest areas.

    • Must be able to stand/walk for periods of at least 8 hours at a time.
