    Your daily responsibilities include

    SUMMARY

    The Accounts Payable Manager manages the efficient daily running of the Accounts Payable department.  Under the Leadership of the Director, the Accounts Payable Manager establishes meaningful KPI’s, improves processes, ensures controls for Vendor Master, makes timely and accurate payment of invoices, and performs 1099 reporting and tax related responsibilities.  This role also is responsible for fostering and maintaining a positive work environment by emphasizing the importance of teamwork and by providing encouragement and regular positive feedback.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary for the entire enterprise:

    • Responsible for supervising and managing staff in the Accounts Payable department.  Develops, implements and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives in defined area.
    • Creates effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and achieving internal customer satisfaction.
    • Responsible for assisting in the company’s annual budget process and provides recommendations; ensuring compliance to company budget initiatives; reporting budget concerns to Director. 
    • Manages AP disbursements, 1099 and tax related matters for multiple US entities, utilizing staff to ensure all deadlines are met.
    • Develops and maintains department KPI’s to accurately assess performance and used data to inform management decisions / areas of focus.
    • Partners with Treasury and Sourcing to support cashflow management.
    • Identifies and resolves the source of issues in an effective manner.
    • Develops, implements and maintains systems and policies and procedures.  Ensures adherence to company, legal and regulatory guidelines.
    • Manages monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements.
    • Responds professionally, timely and accurately to inquiries.
    • Continually reviews control framework and addresses potential gaps / risks by updating controls as needed.
    • Perform special projects as needed
    • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to Executive Management.
    • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

    To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

    • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from accredited four-year college in Finance, Accounting, or related field; or two or more years of experience in Accounts Payable; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Leadership experience required. 
    • Must have working knowledge and experience with an Accounts Payable department.
    • Must have 1099 filing experience. 
    • Must have technical proficiency and knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
    • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to perform tasks of subordinates as needed.
    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet assigned deadlines.
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and successfully balance multiple projects.
    • Must possess initiative and be receptive to feedback and strive for professional continuous improvement.
    • Ability to thrive in a high stress, fast paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
    • Must have the ability to interact with colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
