    Your daily responsibilities include

    Responsible for ensuring stalls in barn area are being utilized properly.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESB include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    • Maintains a list of each person assigned stalls and how many stalls are filled.
    • Locates additional stalls when Receiving Barn has overflow.
    • Assists in upholding barn rules and regulations. 

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

    • No supervisory responsibilities.

     

    Position is Seasonal from September through December

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Must have held a Thoroughbred Racing License for a minimum of three years.  Must have experience around horses.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees if the organization.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to; stand, walk, use hand to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to sit.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.  This noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
