    An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

    Your daily responsibilities include

    • Responsible for fostering a fun environment
    • Responsible for being a gracious host to all guests and co-workers
    • Responsible for promoting a positive influence in the community and participating in company-sponsored events
    • Provide veterinary advice to the Judges on the health, welfare and fitness of race horses
    • Shall be in attendance during all racing hours
    • Shall be in attendance at scratch time to verify vet scratches and make reports to the racing officials as promptly as possible
    • Making pre race assessments in the paddock before each race and post-race assessments of the horses, providing advice to the judges
    • Provide emergency care to horses on track and if required euthanize
    • Maintaining loss of incidents, injuries report
    • Other duties as needed

    To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

    • Must have an outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic attitude
    • Must enjoy hosting others
    • Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with our guests
    • Must be 21 years of age
    • Must hold a Veterinary license in the state of Ohio and be in good standing
    • Must be approved by the Ohio State Racing Commission
    • Must be licensed the Ohio State Racing Commission
    • Must have a thorough knowledge of the Ohio Racing Laws and Rules
    • Must have thorough knowledge of Standardbred horses
    • Must be able to work in various weather conditions
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy
    • Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
    • Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment
    • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 60 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
