Your daily responsibilities include

  • Responsible for supervising and managing staff in the following areas of the Marketing Department: Advertising and Public Relations.
  • Develops, implements and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives in defined area.
  • Creates effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and achieving guest satisfaction. Facilitate kick off meetings, weekly status meetings and team meetings
  • Responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department and provide recommendations; ensuring compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reporting budget concerns to manager.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the market landscape, deliver strategic and tactical initiatives to meet the M Resort and Tropicana’s partner business objectives, and assist in developing and leading an integrated team.
  • Assists with developing brand positioning, brand guidelines, standard operating copy and additional tools to ensure adherence to the brand through all channels in partnership with Corporate Marketing.
  • Manages relationships with outside vendors to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective production campaigns.
  • develops and maintains key materials required for property marketing leadership including the General Manager & VP of Marketing for key meetings with property vertical leaders and Corporate; review and revise materials prior to handoff.
  • Collaborates with Corporate Marketing on developing creative materials and activation plans for internal clients, including Entertainment, Casino Marketing, Food & Beverage outlets/restaurants, Spa, Convention Sales, and Retail and manage calendar of events and campaigns.
  • Assists in developing and launching a project management tool; including timelines and service level agreements.
  • Manages planned and ad-hoc marketing campaigns on-property, oversee day-to-day campaign development and coordinate with Corporate Marketing and property partners, to include corporate requests for company-wide activation.
  • Responsible for writing press releases, media correspondence and creative briefs, in relation to marketing programs or property advertising and ensure delivery of creative assets and quality control content.
  • Drafts copy for updates to website/third-party content; communicate required changes to central teams.
  • Project manages pre-arrival email/communications strategy to build engagement. 
  • Reviews reporting (Web/Social/Promo) and provide insights to Manager and VP on potential changes if communication strategy not aligned with Brand.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.  Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise.  Responsible for the overall achievement of department customer service goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to Executive Management / GM.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                                            

This job will have supervisory responsibilities.

  • Responsible for staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
  • Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regards to performance.
  • Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
  • Manages work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in Marketing, Communications or Journalism; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum six years of experience, in a similar type role, including owning the property partner relationship, driving the brand strategy and brand position and assisting with the management of the day-to-day operations of the team.
  • Experience in multiple communication channels including direct mail, e-mail and social media required.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have technical proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Strong client interface and presentation skills preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to drive toward results.


Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.



Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.



Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
