Your daily responsibilities include

  • Supports the HR Business Partners to meet the needs of the property with a strong focus in Employee/Labor Relations.
  • Conducts full cycle objective investigations in cases of grievances, harassment reports, Team Member concerns and EEOC issues.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to property leadership (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, terminations and performance reviews).
  • Works closely with property management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
  • Assists in the handling of unemployment compensation claims, coordinating claim documentation and data entry responses to various state inquiries and requests.
  • Responsible for processing and reporting of all Union grievances within assigned business units, working closely with department leadership and Union officials to mitigate risk and provide mutually beneficial resolutions.
  • Facilitates identified training programs for the property; including but not limited to: New Hire Orientation, Customer Service and Leadership Development training.
  • Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation consistent with Core and Local policies, State and Federal statutes and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Provides support on legal case tracking and reporting on all EEOC, NERC and NLRB cases within assigned business units.
  • Collects, analyzes and looks for trends in human resources data to make suggestions relating to HR strategy- turnover, engagement, and leadership opportunities.
  • Assists with creative design and execution of Team Member communications; including but not limited to: Newsletters, flyers, bulletins and email blasts.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR or other relevant degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years HR experience
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
  • Ability to work with various levels of the organization to develop and influence the culture.
  • Highly effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, presentation skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to analyze and comprehend Policies and Union contract language to provide accurate interpretation/direction to various levels of the organization
  • Exceptional customer service focus including attention to producing quality results.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state, local and federal labor laws and regulations related to HR.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
  • Previous experience working in a Hotel and/or Casino with Union environments
  • Strong Employee/Labor Relations background
  • iCIMS and UltiPro experience a plus
