We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Casino Operations LEAP (Leadership Excellence at Penn National Gaming Program).  An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

Your daily responsibilities include

The Leadership Excellence at Penn National Gaming program is designed for college graduates who are interested in building a long term career in the gaming industry and delivering the world class experience our customers expect from us.  We value the addition of new energy, talent and expertise into our organization.  This 18 month program has been developed to mold Penn’s leaders of tomorrow and continue our company’s success well into the future.  Our program will provide hands-on-training, mentoring and real world experience which will provide you the necessary tools to be successful at Penn.

 

The program is 18 months overall with 6 months of the program consisting  of CORE rotations that include working in various departments of the casino/operations and administration to gain an understanding of day to day operations necessary to support the overall organization.  This experience is valuable as you move into the next phase of the program because it provides a foundation of knowledge that will be assist you in understanding how all the various areas fit together to make the property function. 

  • Gain knowledge of and enforce all gaming laws and regulations which apply to the functions and duties of the departments for which this position is responsible.
  • Understand how to develop, implement, and oversee overall strategies for customer service, games layout and mix, revenue growth, scheduling and expense management in order to maximize profitability.
  • Drive improved results through staff development and training programs, and established methods, procedures and guidelines to maintain desired standards, and high quality service, then monitors results through inspection, evaluation and analysis. Makes changes if necessary to achieve end result
  • Responsible for ensuring optimal operations and consistent high quality standards in areas of responsibility during all business hours.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and manages implementation of new table games.
  • Management accountability for all day to day and long term operations to include hiring, training and developing employees which includes coaching, mentoring and appropriate performance management up to and including separation.
  • Responsible for the overall integrity of daily operations. Models regulatory, departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare, understand, and analyze business strategies, Budget & P&L Statements and Business Plans.
  • Any and all duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations.

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Must be willing to relocate for this opportunity and possibly after successful completion of the program.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a gaming license in jurisdiction you are hired.
  • Must be able to start no later than July 15, 2016.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word).
  • Good oral and written communication skills, must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and employee relations skills.
  • Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guests and vendors.
  • Ability to stand and walk, and mobility to move easily around casino area as well as entire property for entire shift.
  • Must be able to listen and respond to visual and oral cues.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds and air quality.
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the  ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined space.
