Your daily responsibilities include

 

For IATSE Local 720 referrals ONLY

  • Looking for professional, enthusiastic and talented individuals (on-call positions) for carpenter, flyman, props, audio and electrician, to provide for the operation and provision of technical expertise in the showroom, and for other events in various locations throughout the hotel. 
  • Follows predetermined cues according to stage manager’s instruction.
  • Monitors equipment, props and all theatrical elements to ensure technical capability and assure safe operation. 
  • Attends regularly scheduled maintenance and set-up days to test, repair, and maintain different theatrical elements. 
  • Utilizes personal tools of the trade, hotel ladders, and power equipment necessary and customary to perform responsibilities.

 

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

  • At least 5 years of experience on a run crew of a theatrical show
  • Ability to work with designers, managers, stagehands, and actors while keeping a good attitude
  • Proficiency in Fabrication and Maintenance of wood, plastic, foam, aluminum, and steel scenery
  • Proficiency in Entertainment Rigging
  • Knowledge of local fire, building, and safety codes
  • Physically able to push very large walls around on a raked stage
  • Physically able to move quickly backstage during scene changes
  • Understand various occupational-related electronics and computer knowledge
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, and coordinating with the Technical Director for parts and supply ordering
  • Maturity and understanding of the artistic process and excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and diplomacy skills
  • Can transport, set, operate and remove any sound/lights equipment, as needed
  • Must be well-organized and has the ability to work under pressure in an environment that can be stressful and demanding
  • Must be a good listener, paying full attention to what the Artists and/or management team is trying to achieve
  • Provides a consistent commitment to excellence in their job performance
  • Must be a team player, good listener and know how to pay attention to details
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot and to troubleshoot in as speedy manner
