An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

Your daily responsibilities include

  • Complete server set up tasks: wipe down station; straighten, polish, and roll silverware; wipe down and polish stem ware; refill condiments; wipe tables and chairs; check linens, etc.
  • Complete server closing tasks: reset station for next shift, complete all closing duties according to assigned side work. 
  • Greet guests and take orders promptly.  Describe menu and specials, and answer any questions about them. Interact verbally with guests creating a friendly atmosphere.
  • Relay orders to service bar and kitchen via the point of sale computerized register system.
  • Ring in checks and ensure that all items have been entered correctly.
  • Wait on customers: Serve food to guests in the proper manner: check that all items are cooked properly serve items from left of guest, serve beverages to right of guest, remove all items not being used.
  • Sales and service of menu items to restaurant guests including knowledge of price, styles, types, pairing with food, proper glassware, etc.
  • Sales and service of tobacco items to restaurant bar guest including knowledge of prices, types, pairing with food & beer, etc.
  • Responsible, legal alcohol service, including checking identification, correct orders per guest requests, stopping service of alcohol and notifying a manager for cut off, etc.
  • Know values of complimentary meal coupons and proper ringing procedure.
  • Claim tips received according to laws governing wage reporting.
  • Follow all restaurant service steps.
  • Ring in all food and beverages according to preset standards. Collect money for food and drinks served and give proper change for food and beverages.
  • Clean and stock assigned station continuously throughout the shift: Bus tables, pick up trash, clean ashtrays, empty trash, linen bags, etc.
  • Roll silverware.
  • Complete side duties: fill sugars, salt, pepper, and cream; make coffee, etc.
  • Stock/restock supplies (e.g., cups, glasses, silverware, coffee, napkins, etc.)
  • Provide positive communication and use Red Carpet Training skills with every patron and co-worker.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner; report any potential safety hazards to management staff.
  • Perform any reasonable, temporarily assigned job duties outside the position’s job description, where, in the Company’s judgment, those duties are necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or guest service.
  • Work with co-workers and management in a hotel restaurant environment, involving high volume and gourmet, fast-paced production in a friendly and professional manner.

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

  • Must be 19 years of age
  • Read, write legibly, understand and speak English
  • Able to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, bright lights
  • Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment
  • Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
  • High school education or general education degree (GED); preferably one year experience as a restaurant server.  Extensive beer knowledge preferable.
  • Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Cast Member is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The Cast Member is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The Cast Member must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
