Your daily responsibilities include

OVERVIEW

Responsible for the appearance and supply of food on the buffet line, including hot and cold bars, desserts, and carving station. Responsible for a la carte preparation, presentation and garnishing of simple recipes including plated salads and desserts. Basic culinary training to including knife use and safety, sanitation, and plating and garnishing of food items. Assists Cook II and III as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Promote and maintain all steps of the Marquee Service program with each patron and employee you come in contact with.
  • Effectively respond to Supervisor’s requests in all areas of customer interaction and customer concerns.
  • Maintain the appearance of buffet. Clean and sanitize hot/cold buffet throughout each meal and during set up/break down.
  • Set up and break down station. Garnishes all food items as requested. At closing or before next meal, removes and returns food to kitchen, restocks items/supplies for upcoming meal.
  • Maintain proper temperatures of buffet foods throughout each meal.
  • Monitor and maintain supply of food items on the buffet
  • Prepare and serve salads and desserts, i.e., baking premade cookies, sandwiches in employee break room for grab and go.

·         Properly store all food, which must be covered, dated and rotated on a daily basis to ensure proper portion control and quality.

  • Prepares basic food items per guest order, (i.e, quesadillas, omelets, waffles, etc.)
  • Carve prepared meat
  • Pull cooked (finished) items out of rotisserie
  • Complete opening and closing duties completely.
  • Employees may be required to perform duties outside of their normal job description where, in the Company’s judgment, it is necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity or improved guest service.

 

 

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Preferred high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The employee will be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals found in various cleaning agents, as well as temperature variations from cold to heat (e.g. freezer, ovens, room temperature when cooking, etc.). The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in work environment is usually loud.
